Pocket 4 profile selection

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 · the starting point

Pocket 4 needs its own profile check

DJI describes Pocket 4 recording as D-Log. ToneLab’s current compatibility list groups Pocket 4 under D-Log M. Those labels do not establish that the conversions are interchangeable, so this guide does not recommend selecting a Pocket 3 or generic D-Log M conversion for Pocket 4 footage.

Keep the recorded profile attached to the edit notes. Before using Chroma for the technical conversion, ask ToneLab to confirm the exact Pocket 4 input and preset in your installed version. DJI’s matching Pocket 4 conversion is a separate route to a technical starting point.

Once conversion is established, concentrate on continuity through walking shots: faces moving between shade and sunlight, shop windows and changing backgrounds. A single creative direction can tie those shots together, but it cannot replace local exposure and white-balance corrections.

Keep the locked Pocket 4 page. Correct the profile assumption before copying a Pocket 3 workflow.

Quick answer

Check that the clip is Pocket 4 D-Log, using the camera settings and current DJI documentation. Confirm the exact Pocket 4 conversion with ToneLab. Its D-Log M listing differs from DJI’s D-Log description.

02 · Practical sequence

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 in DaVinci Resolve

This sequence is designed for an SDR Rec.709 finish. Account for any existing colour management before applying a technical conversion; the same LOG-to-display transformation should not happen twice.

Step 01

Confirm the recording

Check that the clip is Pocket 4 D-Log, using the camera settings and current DJI documentation.

Step 02

Resolve compatibility

Confirm the exact Pocket 4 conversion with ToneLab. Its D-Log M listing differs from DJI’s D-Log description.

Step 03

Establish the base

Use one confirmed conversion route. If using DJI’s matching LUT first, do not apply another LOG conversion in Chroma.

Step 04

Finish the walk

Balance changes in light along the sequence, then refine creative colour in a compatible grading setup.

Match the exact model

Use a conversion documented for Pocket 4 D-Log. A shared DJI brand name is not enough.

Keep the inputs separate

The Pocket 3 guide covers D-Log M. This page owns Pocket 4 D-Log and the compatibility question.

Evaluate Chroma only after its exact input support is clear. Creative finishing and technical conversion are separate considerations.

04 · Questions before you grade

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 D-Log FAQ

Does Pocket 4 use D-Log M?

DJI’s current Pocket 4 documentation describes D-Log. ToneLab currently lists the model under D-Log M; confirm the exact supported conversion rather than treating those labels as equivalent.

Can I reuse my Pocket 3 conversion?

Do not assume so. Match the conversion to the actual Pocket 4 recording profile and the manufacturer’s guidance.

Can I still use Chroma after a DJI conversion?

Potentially, for creative finishing in a compatible setup. Keep Chroma’s additional LOG conversion disabled and check the required input for the chosen treatment.

Should I buy Chroma solely for Pocket 4 conversion?

Confirm the exact Pocket 4 preset and input support with ToneLab first. The current naming discrepancy makes that check necessary.

Profile reference: DJI Osmo Pocket 4 documentation. Check ToneLab’s current compatibility information for the exact input and installed version.
